This is a collection of themes for selling high quality eBooks. There are certain things you’ll need if you want to sell online, digitally downloadable products. One of those things you’ll need is a great WordPress theme with the traits, details and qualities you need to sell those products efficiently and safely.
WordPress, paired with Easy Digital Downloads is a great idea because it’s so powerful and quickly adjusted. Whatever kind of digital products you’re selling, one of these themes could be perfect. eBooks, After Effects projects, MP3s, video files and more. If you’re creating a recipe book, a novel, short stories, any sort of book. Digital downloads are really popular nowadays, so maybe it’s time to get into the mix with a fantastic digital download WordPress theme.
With this new WordPress theme called ‘Checkout’, along with the free plugin Easy Digital Downloads, you can make your very own digital products store to sell things like stock photography, audio files, MP3s, eBooks, videos, After Effects templates and more. Pretty much anything in digital form. Now, add in the Easy Digital Downloads Marketplace Bundle and you’ve got a powerful solution if you’ve ever wanted to create a true multi-vendor marketplace for WordPress. (Though, to be fair, you don’t need to be selling digital stuff to use this theme.) That’s because Checkout also offers up some gorgeous looking page templates that will work perfectly for a business or portfolio website. You can have a ‘team’ page, pricing tables and more.
At it’s heart, Argo is a magazine or newspaper theme, but it’s also specially made to serve as a great looking eBook sales page, since it’s compatible with Easy Digital Downloads. DesignWall WP created Argo with a modern, trendy ‘Metro Style’ and it’s unbelievably simple to navigate and shop for all kinds of downloadable products. Argo is a purly responsive theme, 100% GPL and it’s easy to customize and manage on the backend too. Selling products is a breeze with Easy Digital Downloads. Why might you want that in a magazine site, you ask? Well, check out some of the biggest online magazines around, they do the same thing. Smashing Magazine or Designmodo, both have shops to sell eBooks. If you’re running an SEO blog, you may want to sell eBooks too. The choice is yours, but Argo is a great solution if that’s how you choose to monetize your site.
Zerif Pro could be a great choice for folks who want a simple, one page theme that allows you to sell digital downloads. I don’t think I’d recommend it if you’ve got tons and tons of content that you want to sell, this isn’t for a stock photo company or a music label with a ton of products to sell. But if you’re selling SEO services or software or a plugin or addon, maybe even for WordPress, it’s a solid choice. Particularly great for selling eBooks. Zerif Pro is professional in it’s layout. This thing is all business. I’ve shown a screencap of five different child themes above, each one a little different than the others, but you can always use the included Site Origin Page Builder to craft more unique layouts and designs if you’d like to. Perfectly responsive, easily customized, this Zerif Pro theme is a fantastic solution for all kinds of online shops, particularly ones selling downloadable products.

Made is a very attractive, minimalist WordPress theme that I think could make for a great site for selling eBooks. While I don’t really think that this site would scale particularly well for a massive enterprise (you’re not going head to head with Amazon or Powell’s Books with this theme) I think it could be really solid if you have a small number of books that you’ve self published. Perhaps you’re an author, novelist or poet who wants to upgrade the look and feel of your site, Made could be a great solution. Just add Easy Digital Downloads or WooCommerce and you’ll be on the way to selling digitally downloadable products from your own site. Made has a built in blog that’s really effective too, so you’ve always got that going for you. All in all, Made is a really nice all purpose, minimal eCommerce theme.
For a theme that loads so fast, Composition packs in a lot of features that you might expect in a much larger theme. But GraphPaper Press generally doesn’t mess around with bloated code, so this Composition theme is a pretty good example of the type of WordPress portfolio themes that are currently leading the market. Composition is mobile device friendly, with perfectly responsive design and your portfolio is going to look fantastic with masonry grid gallery designs for posts, photos and portfolios too. You can integrate Composition with the Sell Media plugin to make your site into a digital downloads business. For photographers who have been selling on iStockPhoto, ShutterStock or other stock photo and footage websites, it’s a pretty cool way to make some additional money and to have the freedom to do what you want, not what the owners of those other sites want.
Composition is simple to customize and personalize since you can move your posts, blogs and welcome messages around to the places you want them to be. Composition features clean HTML5 markup, a theme customizer for personalizing your website, it’s translation ready, SEO optimized, completely widgetized, offers the choice of custom backgrounds, page templates. This is Coup Shop, an eCommerce theme that I believe could strike the right balance between form and function, letting you set up a shop selling digitally downloadable products like eBooks. CoupShop was created by Themes Kingdom, it’s simple to look at, just as easy to use and the features are endless. I love a plugin like WooCommerce or Easy Digital Downloads for establishing a great looking online shop and Themes Kingdom works perfectly with both of those plugins. For promoting your products, you’ll want an SEO friendly theme, one that’s responsive too, which perfectly describes CoupShop. Elegant and minimalist, sophisticated and user friendly, CoupShop has multiple layout options for making your products look the best they can look.
